VIII PALO welcomes applications to its preDP classes. PreDP comprises Years 1 and 2 of upper secondary school, during which selected subjects are taught bilingually in Polish and English by teachers who also teach in the IB Diploma Programme. Admissions to preDP classes begin in October of the academic year preceding enrolment.
Admission to a preDP class is based on:
The candidate’s required grade average is at least 4.5 at the end of Year 7 or Year 8. Grades in music, art, technical education, physical education, and religion or ethics are not included when calculating the average. At least a good conduct grade is also required. In the case of admission to Year 2 of preDP, the candidate’s results from Year 1 of upper secondary school are taken into account.
The admissions interview is conducted by the IB DP Coordinator, Alicja Rozpędzka, or the Deputy DP Coordinator, Mateusz Jabłoński. The candidate and their parent or parents may arrange the interview by telephone at +48 12 633 96 57 or by email at alicja.rozpedzka@viiipalo.edu.pl.
The purpose of the interview is to learn more about the candidate and assess their suitability for a class preparing students for the IB Diploma Programme. During the meeting, the candidate and their parents also receive information about the specific nature of the preDP pathway, including the gradual introduction of English as a language of instruction, familiarisation with working methods characteristic of the IB DP, and preparation for selecting subjects in the Diploma Programme.
Before the interview, candidates are asked to send the application form and supporting documentation, for example scanned copies of the relevant documents, by email to sekretariat@pack.edu.pl or submit them directly to the school office.
VIII PALO welcomes applications directly to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP), which begins in Year 3 of upper secondary school.

Candidates and their parents are therefore advised to familiarise themselves before the meeting with the International Baccalaureate documents Academic integrity and IB learner profile, available together with other documents in the Documents section. The programme expectations described in these documents will also be discussed during the interview.
Where necessary, a candidate may be asked to take an English language placement examination, particularly if they have not previously been taught in English.
